With Nikken, almost any circumstance can create opportunity. Through my letting several sons borrow my tux, I found myself short of a cummerbund to wear at my daughters wedding last week. At the Tuxedo store, I met store manager Clay Ownbey. He is a really nice guy who has been in that business for 12 years. He’s become sort of a turn-around expert for his corporation. They put him over the stores that are in trouble and he gets them profitable. I asked him if he had ever thought about working in the health industry, so now we will be getting together. Someone said that the passing of time is much like using a roll of toilet paper. You put a new roll on and at first, it seems like there is so much there. As it is used, the roll begins to dwindle increasingly faster, and then its gone! 2011 has certainly gone faster than any other year! It astounding to believe that Valerie and I have been doing Nikken for over 21 years! This time has gone by so fast. Its really weird getting used to being in my 60’s! This is reinforced by more and more kids who are calling me Grandpa! We are now expecting our 25th grandchild! Most of our children are starting to gather for the Christmas holidays. W o r k ! I read a thought-provoking essay by Orrin Woodward where he states: “The thing that distinguishes one performer from another is how hard he or she works. That’s it.
